FMP: Week 14 Thursday

On Thursday, I decimated the model, imported it into 3ds max and started retopologising. I took the previous characer model and conformed it to the new sculpt as much as possible. I removed areas such as the ears and the back/sides of the head since the new sculpt was too different, and started from scratch for those. I had a bit of difficulty with the more fiddly areas such as the glove edges, as those had moved slightly in the new sculpt and didn't enjoy being conformed to the new one, but I patiently went over every vert and placed it into its new position with the conform move tool. This helped me save a considerable amount of time, since there's no point in me retopologising something I already have a useable version of.
